Our Farm

Our hatchery is thoroughly designed to support the simultaneous production of multiple types of fish fingerlings.

To have complete control of the production process, we had to create an entire supporting system for each development stage.

We have gradually created a broodstock that is manipulated to spawn year-round. We produce live feed for the early-stage larvae, which are fed in fully automated rearing ponds. Our young fingerlings are then transferred to a monitored nursery for their grow-out prior to delivery.

Seawater

Dagon's hatchery benefits from its proximity to the seashore, which provides a consistent supply of seawater.

To ensure the highest quality water for our fish, we utilize multiple methods to treat seawater, including sand filtration, polymeric automatic disc filtration, ozone purification, activated charcoal, and UV radiation.

Freshwater

For Borehole Water Treatment, we primarily use degassing systems to remove excess carbon dioxide. These water treatment systems (WTS) are essential for maintaining optimal water quality and ensuring healthy fish growth and development.

Ras and Open Flow-Through Water System

Dagon's hatchery comprises four main production stages:

Live-Feed department, Broodstock, Larval department, Nursery (greenhouses).

enFlow-Through systems are utilized in both the Live-Feed and Larval departments.

These systems are supplied by two main water sources: Bore Hole water (brackish water at 5ppt) and continuous seawater supply (around 40ppt).

In our Broodstock and Nurseries departments, we operate RAS systems - Recirculating Aquaculture System technology.

Biosecurity

Dagon's hatchery was built and designed to meet the highest biosecurity standards.

To ensure the optimal performance of our biosecure Live-Feed and Larval departments, we rely on a constant supply of clean, high-quality water from our open-flow systems.

To maximize water usage efficiency, we recycle and repurpose a significant portion of the water by using the high-quality water outflow from our post-larval tanks to supply closed RAS systems in the Nurseries.

Prior to the Nurseries, the water undergoes treatment in a Suspended Solids Drum Filtration, Moving Bed Bioreactor (MBBR), treated with ozone, and re-oxidized.

Monitoring

Dagon's hatchery is equipped with an advanced monitoring system that operates 24/7 to ensure full control over the facility. This system is designed and customized to meet the specific demands of our hatchery.

The parameters monitored include oxygen levels, oxygen flows, water levels, water pump activation and pressure, and drum filter activity. Our monitoring system can be managed both on-site and remotely using a mobile app, providing us with real-time updates on the hatchery's conditions.

Data managment

Advanced data management software allows us to effectively document and analyze crucial information related to our hatchery's operations. This includes data on larvae and fish stockings, feeding protocols, FCR tables, marketing, dispatch, cost accounting, and statistics.

By using this software, we can make informed decisions, streamline our processes, and continually improve the efficiency of our operation
